Temporary child custody

My daughter is currently living with a "friend" who was to help take care of her until I became financially stable. While my daughter has been in her care, my "friend" filed a petition for temporary custody. The petition was filed and ordered on the same day. It states that she had not seen or heard from me for approximately 3 months. That is not true and I have several people willing to testify or appear in court. I had no idea she had any type of custody until I told her that I wanted my daughter to move back in with me, by this time, the petition was 6 months old. I went to the courthouse where she filed it and I have a court date set for the 20th of this month. I applied but don't qualify for legal aid, but I can't come up with $3000 in attorney's fees by then. Another problem is that she is a friend of the judge, the only judge, in that county. Even when I went to the courthouse to try and overturn this petition, the county clerk didn't issue my "friend" a summons to court, she just called her up and told her.
My "friend" told me that she got permission to get custody from my daughter's father......we have joint custody after our divorce. I called him, he said he didn't sign over his rights in any way ,shape, or form.
I just need help on what I need for court, what/who I need to bring. I don't know what to do. Can you please help me?
