Violating visitation orders

I live in NYC and the father lives in CA...our daughter lives in CA with him and I have visitation for all holidays and summer/school breaks. What are the reprucussions if the father does not stick to the agreement during a scheduled holiday visit? If he is in contempt, what does that mean and what are my options?

In Illinois it is called Interfernece of a Visitation Order and the custodial parent is issued a citation, or you can also file a petition to show cause and if he is found in contempt, then the it is up to the Judge on what the punishment will be..usually arrest and fine.
