Child custody

I am an unmarried soon to be mother. Baby is due in 4 months. The father is threatening to take me to court to get 50/50 custody. I just want him to have visitation. I certainly wont keep him from her. Can he get half custody of a newborn?

If 50/50 is the same as joint custody then the child will remain with you and father will have visitations. Newborns usually dont get taken from the mother.
