Child custody

Ok, here goes. In a nutshell, my brothers wife lied to her parents, the police and had my brother arrested back in 05/06. Since then her parents have obtained custody of their 2 sons and my brother only gets supervised visits every other week at the family court facility. Her parents have been out to get my brother from the start. They never liked him because he is uneducated(never finished school.)Despite that fact, my brother did everything including 12 or more hr work days(construction), coming home and cleaning, cooking, taking care of the kids while his wife did squat. He was never allowed during the court hearings to defend himself in anyway. He has been out of work since all of this happened and has since been severely depressed. There was never any supporting evidence that he was abusive to his wife or children(which he was not). He loves them kids something terrible. Since he does not work now, he cannot afford a lawyer to help him at least obtain unsupervised visits so he can hug his children instead of being watched like he's some kind of criminal. This story is very long and I don't have the time to tell the whole thing, but can someone please help? What can we do? The only thing that will get my brother back on track is to have his kids back or to atleast be able to see them more often, or have them over at my place for the weekend. Yes, My brother is living with me and has been homeless for the last 3 yrs, thanks to his wife. Any advice?

It sounds like he needs legal representation. If he isn't working he should be able to qualify for legal aid. You'll have to look for someone where you live, but here is an example:

http://www.legal-aid.com/

They provide free, civil legal services to low-income and seniors.
