Informing the other

It does not state in our divorce papers that we have to let the other know if we are taking the kids over a long distance, but is there a law in ND that states we do need to inform the other?

You have to go by the stipulations of the custody order in the state that the order was held. If there is no stipulation it would be up to the parent that has full custody to decide. The parent that does not have the custody can always file a motion to modifly the orignal order and ask the court to stipulate that either parent can be allowed to take the child or children out of state for a visit as long as there is written notice given to each other.
