parent absent but still wants vist

My daughters dad is suppose to have vistation every other weekend and split holidays she starts kindergartn this year he saids he has the right to come get her for a week tihs summer but he has hsd no visits with her for 2 or 3 years a few phone calls thats it. does have any rights.

You only have to give the father the visitations that are stipulated though the court,if there is no weekly summer visits you don't have to allow her to go. However that does not mean that he can't file a motion with the court to modifly the orignal order and ask for summers. Sometimes it is better to work with the father. If he is good to his daughter and there are no problems that would prevent him from seeing her a little more then you can let him try it and see how it works out. I do not know the situration but I know that it is always best to work together if you can't ,then it is up to the court to decide.
