What age is a child able to decide which parent she lives with?

My 11 year old daughter wants to live with me half the time and I'm wondering how hard it is for a guy in Minnesota to get half custody of his child. Or what age the child decides. I've tried to work with my ex on this to keep from having a nasty court battle but I keep getting promises that aren't kept.

There's no age which the child gets to choose in Minnesota. The older the child, the more weight the court will put on the child's opinion. At 11, your daughter's preference will be considered - most states listen to children around age 12.
