What are Grandparents visitation rights in state of California ?

Grandparents do not have any legal rights and if your daughter told the school not to allow you to see your grandchild or speak to her then they have to abide by that. Hopefully your daughter will come around and let you see your grandaughter,after all she is your daughter and i am sure she loves you and does not want to hurt you.

Okay, but if there has already been a exparte hearing and the courts are aware of the situation, let me put it this way: if there is a concern among us as grandparents and an investigation is being done on admitted drug use in the home. the concern for the children should be that they be in a safe enviorment, right? Then what can grandparents do to make sure they stay in contact with the children durning this investigation?

Have same problem here in Fl. Daughter and grandson lived with us for over 5 years after her divorce, no rent or any contribution to the house during that time, then became pregnant after know a guy who had just gotten out of jail (2 weeks) felon, served 4.5 years in jail in Az. and HE moved in with us and she had a baby girl...She was 33 when she met and became pregnant, bringing the new husband into my grandson's life...He was struggling with not having his father, and then this? Now she is really angry at me since I told the real father of grandson, emailed him to ask grandson what's going on in the house...The child told me that the step dad is "hurting me" threw him across the room and he landed upside down on the couch! Other things have happened as well and I was scared...NOW my daughter says she wants nothing to do with me and "has no mother"...WE TOOK HER IN AND HER TWO CATS, AND SON FREE ROOM AND BOARD FOR 5 years then the new husband and new baby! for almost a year....I WANT TO SEE MY GRANDCHILDREN....She was out partying every night and sleeping all day because she worked nights...we raised the grandson and adore him....bonded with him from 16 mo. old because he lived with us...What do we do? HELP
