I know here in NY that child support stops at age 18 for males and 21 for females. Once the child turns that age...you need to go to Family Court and file an Emancipation. Then it still takes the court up to 6 months to decide if they want to emancipate the child. If the child lives on his/her own...they are already considered emancipated. You should call your local child support unit and see what the regulations are for the child once working.

When does child support stop in miami dade, floridaif
The child is 18, out of school and working do's child support stop.
If it stops, what do I have to do to have my job stop sending child support to my x-wife?
On the Divorced paper, it does not specifies when to stop child support.
What do I have to do and were do I go. My job will not stop child support with out a Court order.
