Where can I find the guidelines as to what child support is actually to be used for?

My daughters father refuses to buy her anything that she needs. Such as a winter coat, or school supplies, or even the feminine supplies that she needs when she is with him. He tells her "that is what I pay child support to your mother for". My daughter is 14 years old and is afraid to ask her father for anything for fear he will blow-up and start yelling at her. I am currently unemployed. Any suggestions? I am looking for something in print that will tell me what exactly child support is supposed to be spent on. I have until this point purchased everything for her getting myself further and further in debt. At this time I am currently about 10,000.00 in credit card debt, much of it is things my daughter needed such as clothing, school supplies, etc. My thoughts about child support is that it is to be spent on shelter and food. I also recieve $19.00 per support check for uninsured medical expenses, but I am required to pay all the uncovered medical expenses and then be reimbursed for them after I submit the reciepts to friend of the court. Something is very wrong with this set-up ! I would appreciate any info you can give me as well as any advice! Thank You!

If you have custody or joint custody of your daughter and your ex is paying you child support,he is right the child support that you recieve is for any needs that your daughter needs, clothes personnel items food school sports ect. When she goes to her fathers house on visits it would be nice if he bought her things that she needs while in his care,he should want o but legally he does not have to put out anymore than what the court has ordered him to do. There is know forms on guide lines for support it is just a commom since thing here, a parent knows what the child needs and usally child support does not cover everything a child may need, however a parent can only pay so much. You as the mother are also responiable to pay out of your earnings for the child as well. If the child is 16 and over she could get a parttime job and it would not effect your child support order. If you feel your ex is not paying enought you can always go to court and try to get the child support raised. The father is responiable for the food for the child while the child is in his care and for transportaion to get the child and othet than that what he gives id up to him. i would think he would give her what he could but I don't know how he feels. It sounds like he has made his point when he stated that he pays child support.
