Who gets custody of my kids?

My question is who gets custody of my kids? In 2000, I gave custody of my 2 girls to thier great grandparents. One has died and the other has alziemers. My girls have been living with me for 5 years now. The great grandmother has a power of attonery over her. I wondering if she dies who gets my kids? I'm very concerned! I want to get custody back of my girls. The great grandmother can no longer take care of her self.

You can file for custody and since no one will contest it you will probably be awarded if you can provide a safe environment for your children. To file you can just go to your county clerk to pay and get the correct paper work then you will have a hearing where the judge can award you custody.

File with the court a stipulation to change sole child custody. it wouldnt hurt to bring with you the death decree of the one great grandparent and the medical records of the other great grandparent that has alziemers. this will ensure you sole custody as long there is no one to contest it.
