Wisconsin unwed parents custody

Can the mother go for joint custody and stipulate that it is conditional upon no unsupervised visitation by the paternal grandmother.

the fathers mother is an alcholic and sees nothing wrong with driving around with baby after having a few beers and in a vehicle with no insurance. Father can be munipulated by his mother because she is very good at making him feel guilty and sorry for her. Grandmother has a lot of money coming in from a divorce and has already threatened to take custody away from mother if she does not give in to her on the bases the they (father and grandmother) will be more finacially secure than mother.

Should mother go for sole custody or joint with the stipulation regarding paternal grandmother?

It's important for the dad to be in the child's life, so I would go for joint custody stipulating the grandmother cannot drive or have unsupervised visits. That's very unsafe!
