College admission

I enrolled in to a medical college in march and had to withdraw 2wks later now the school was to charge me over $1,000 for books and the time I spent in class. the Head man said I never should have been enrolled because of my work schedule, which I made admissions aware of at the time of enrollment . I also told the financial advisor the if I couldnt get any type of assistant financially that I could not enroll. They assured me that there would be not problem . But they lied.

How do I get out of this mess?

Well, there are typically policies written very clearly in your student manual that state the drop out deadline (typically a week). But even then you have to officially drop your classes, you can't just stop going. Did you fill out any paper work when you decided to drop your classes?

Did you have a loan or something from this institution? Usually you have to buy your books yourself. I guarantee that there is a procedure and a policy regarding your situation. You should look at your student manual for the details as every school is different. They guy you have been dealing with sounds like a jerk, so ask if you can deal with someone else. Maybe they can get you on a payment plan, or reduce the amount you owe.
