What are some of the purposes that people write?

Some people write for fun, profit, to express their views on subjects they consider important to them. Some write to deliver an idea or a new procedure that might benefit others in the writer's field of expertise. Some people with active imaginations like Jules Verne author fiction, while people like Phillip Caputo author non fictional accounts of events they particpated in for future readers. Some also write to document daily events in the city they live in.

Most of the people just like to read, watch tv, but some like to write , in my oppinion and experience when some poeple dont express them self in any other way, and need to get heard, to get attention, to wanna become famous, to get their furstration out in a quite and silent way, they start writing , and it dosnt matter what they wanna write but eventualy they focus and start writing on the suject they like most or have more experience or field of experties.

Some of the REASONS that people write are to: apply for a job, write a thank you note after a job interview, write letters to their friends, write letters to their grandmas, write letters to their congressman and political leaders, write letters to the editor, share their thoughts and ideas with others.

There are all kinds of writing, but most of them fit into 4 categories.
1. To inform - Informing or describing to your readers. You are telling your readers what you know about a subject, giving information, educating them in some way.
2. To Demonstrate - This is similar to informing your reader; however, you do not just tell your reader about something, you also show them.... step by step directions.
3. To Persuade - Trying to convince your readers to think or act a certain way.
4. To Entertain - Telling a story or anecdote for the sole purpose of entertaining your reader.
