Hello,
Advanced Photo System cameras allow you to choose from three different print sizes each time you snap a photo. The choices are shown below. Find the perimeter and the area of each size print. One is 4in x 6in, the other is panoramic 4in x 14in and the last one is 4in x 7in.
First of all, the perimeter is the length of the curves which surrond a figure. In the case of a square for example, the curves are each of the same length a, say, so the perimeter is a+a +a+a = 4a. The area however is the measure of how many squares of side lenght 1 unit will fit in a figure. In the case of a rectanble with length l and width w, we know that the area is l*w and the perimeter is 2l+2w.
So in the case of the 4in by 6 in print, we have the following values:
Perimeter = 2*4 + 2*6 = 20 in.
Area = 24 square inches.
In the case of the 4in by 14 in print we have the following values:
Perimeter = 2*4 + 2*14 = 36 in
Area = 4 * 14 = 56 square inches
Finally, for the 4in by 7 in print we have the following values:
Perimeter = 2*4 + 2*7 = 22 in
Area = 28 square inches.
I hope that this helps!
