How do i retrieve information on a stored file that was deleted

I stored a composition in a file and someone mistakelyerased it but the file is still there but the information there is what i can not retrieve .help me i am desperately in need of this.

Have you tried looking for the file in the trash can (assuming you have windows) you can search in the trash can and if you see it in there, right click and hit restore and it will bring it back.
