Is there a difference human services degree and a social worker degree?

I want to finish my degree in human services. I just don't know if I will be able to be licensed as a social worker in Ohio. Honestly, I am not sure if there is a diffence between the two other than in terminology.

Typically, the two are interchangeable, however, some states give preference of one over the other. North Carolina's Department of Social Services is one of them. For CPS Social Workers, they give preference to someone with a Social Worker Degree over Human Services Degrees. Call the agency in which you wish to be employed by and ask someone in Human Resources to tell you if that is the case. Hope this helps and good Luck, Susu
