Here is a well-know organization that helps with school supplies.

Have you thought of contacting churches? They are always looking to help communities locally or internationally. I would prepare a packet of some sort with your overall goals and mission, personal stories of children in need, and a plan of action that organizations can participate in. Maybe your goal is to get supplies donated for 10 kids to go to school. Create a list of things they need and ask if they can help. Then if they do choose to help, be sure to follow up with photos of the child using the supplies, and follow the children to see how such a small contribution can make such a huge impact. Then next year you will have testimonies and more and more people will want to help.
Good luck - what you are doing is honorable and I hope you get all of the help you need!
