80's party costume ideas

I'll bet for $15 you can find a great costume at the arch store - I went to an 80's party last year and went as a Madonna worshiper - no cones on the boobs though - that's too obvious :)

I'm getting a vision:

Get some BRIGHT colored tights (my favorite color is hot pink), then find an ACDC or KISS sweatshirt and cut the collar out so that it falls off one shoulder and wear another bright colored tank top or sports bra so the strap shows. Wear a cutoff denim skirt that is frayed at the bottom. Try to find a gold or silver sequined belt and gold or silver heels. Then - get some leg warmers - if you can't find them, I made mine out of the sweatshirts sleeves and folded them over a rubber band on the top to make them stick.

For a finishing touch - a little electric blue eyeshadow and wear your hear in a high pony off to the side! Yeah - now your a fly girl! This is a great costume because it still looks hot, not cheesey :)

Don't forget the elf boots, the parachute pants and of course, the glove on one hand. Also, have you considered the preppy look? Loafers, jeans, polo shirt with the color up and a white sweater vest.

Two words - Crocket and Tubbs.

How bout going to the party as Devo. or bust out the umbrella pants or whatever they were called and go out as MC Hammer

Another idea is going out with big 80 styles hair or a nice fro
