1.Check your TV to see if it has a screen shield. TVs with a screen shield are covered in protective plastic and are much easier to clean than those without them. Look at your screen and see if it appears to be smooth or bumpy. If you still can't tell, touch the screen lightly with the tip of one finger. If it has a shield, it will be hard and rigid; if not, it will be soft.

2.Clean a DLP TV screen that has a screen shield by wiping it with a dry microfiber cloth. Start at the top left and move side to side until you've covered the whole screen. Use gentle pressure and touch the screen only with the cloth, never with your hands. If just using the cloth doesn't get out a stubborn soil spot, dip the cloth in a bowl of distilled water that is at room temperature. Wring out the cloth and try wiping again.

3.Clean a DLP TV screen without a screen shield only with an approved screen cleaning kit. Your best bet is to purchase one directly from your TV's manufacturer. However, you can also find generic kits at most electronics stores. Each kit comes with a cloth and cleaner that will not damage the delicate screen. Follow the same side to side method to wipe the screen as outlined in step two. Again, avoid touching the screen with your hands.

4.Avoid letting liquid sit on the screen. Since you shouldn't use much, it should dry quickly. If it's still wet after two minutes, use a second microfiber cloth to dry.
