What is the Awarded Answer?
The Awarded Answer is the selected answer that is picked by the person who asked the question. It is the reply that the qustion asker felt was the single best answer to their question. The person asking the question gets to pick from any answer that was posted to the question, and the original question asker selected as the definiative answer to their question.
How do I get paid for answering questions?
WebAnswers.com uses Google's AdSense contextual advertising program to generate revenue for the the users that have been "awarded answers" by the people asking the questions. Once an answer you have posted is selected as the best answer for the question, you will earn a percentage of the revenue generated by that question from Google AdSense.
Can I add additional text to my answer to prompt the user to award my answer as the best answer?
You cannot add additional text to your answer prompting the user to pick you as the best answer. This is considered answer gaming and is not allowed at WebAnswers.com. Infractions can result in modification or deletion of answers and possibly having your account deleted.
Will I get an email notifying me when someone replies to my question?
You will get one email for every time someone replies to one of your questions. This can be as quickly as within a few minutes of when you post your question, sometimes a few hours later. When you get the answer you need or within 72 hours, please come back and mark the answer you felt best answered your question.
Why am I not getting the reply notifications?
If you are not getting the email notifications, first make sure that you are set to receive them by checking your Account Details. The checkbox for receiving questions should be checked. Secondly, make sure that WebAnswers.com is added to your white list or non-spam addresses. If you are using hotmail for your email then you may want to consider using a different email address. Currently hotmail users have trouble receiving our email notifications.
How do I turn off the email notifications?
If you wish to stop receiving the email notifications when someone responds to your question, there is a setting your Account Details to turn on and off those notifications.
Why did my question or answer get flagged for moderation approval?
WebAnswers.com uses a process to screen for questions or answers that have profane content or numerous misspellings in the post. This is done to ensure a high quality of posts and to ensure that the content being used is relevant to the question or answer if it profane in nature. Questions and answers in the moderation queue are usually approved in under an hour and will appear on the site at that time.
