How much is a safe deposit box?

Is it worth the money? I have wills, passports, social security cards, etc. Is it worth renting a safe deposit box. I live in an apartment and I worry about someone breaking in and stealing this stuff...

They are really cheap. Check w/ your local bank, but my credit union charges like $15/ year. They are worth having for important stuff. Marriage license, birth certificate's, SS info, basically anything that would be hard to get back if you were robbed or if there was a fire. They are also good if you are like me and can get disorganized and forget where you put important stuff that you don't use much. I actually had to go get a new birth certificate for my oldest boy a few months ago because it got misplaced in our last move. I think they are worth the money.

Definately worth the money and reasonably priced. Stash wills, stocks, car titles, social secuirty cards, and other valuable information in them and not only will you never loose it but then no one can steal it.

Yes, I must say it's so much more secure than leaving those stuff in your house - unless you have your own safe and it's well-hidden.
