I was wondering what are some good cheap stocks to look for in the summer and fall of 2010?

I would suggest that you avoid penny stocks if you can help it. They are extremely volatile by nature, and do not trade on fundamentals. If you purchase penny stocks with anything, but money you expect to lose you are being foolish. You are more likely to win at roulette than you are with a penny stock in most cases. You surely could do very well, but in almost every case the gain you have a possibility of making is the less likely outcome. You would be wise to invest, and slowly become rich by buying good investments. Leave your speculation to playing the lottery if you must.

Avoiding penny stocks is very sound advice if you have not first learned all you can about investing in, or trading regular stocks. Penny stocks require an amount of knowledge that transcends that of the knowledge necessary to invest in more solid, established companies. It is also not for the faint of heart, or the broke. You have to be ready and willing to lose every single penny of your investment, and lose several times before you finally land on one that becomes a winner.

That said, right now I like a company called ChinaTel, traded on the OTCBB as CHTL.
