What is the best time to sell a Treasury bond

I am executor of an estate that includes 55000 in U.S.Treasury bonds 08.500% Feb 15 2020
At that return I am tempted to recommend that heirs hang on to the bonds and enjoy a high ROR until the bond matures. On the other hand, when few investments reliably return 8.5% this might be a good time to sell the bond as it would comand a market value well above its par value.

Sell or hold?

You should definitely keep it. Sell it when bonds pays more than the 8.500%. Keep it as long as it is less

Recommend you advise the heirs to hold unless they have a sure-fire low-risk alternative investment that would yield more than 8.5% annual yield. In these uncertain economic times, the safety of US Treasuries makes them worth a bit more than the interest they pay.
