Yes the grow on tree like plants which are actually vines the leaves actually make up the tree looking stalks and the vines grow from there and wala bananas are made
Yep. There are banana trees. They only grow well in a tropical climate though, so they have to be exported to other areas/countries around the world. You can grow banana trees elsewhere, but they won't usually produce edible fruit or fruit at all, unless they are in a tropical climate. I live in California and you can't grow bananas here. :(
On plants. They look as if they are growing on a tree, but what looks like a trunk is actually a pseudostem which produces the fruit at the top. After fruiting, each pseudostem dies and is replaced by a fresh one.
