Do Rubbermaid hard plastic containers with the 7 inside the triangle may contain bpa?

The NY Times of 14/22/08 states:"any product made of hard, clear plastic is probably made from polycarbonate unless the manufacturer specifically states that it's BPA-free. One way to check is to look for the triangle stamp on or near the bottom: polycarbonate plastics should have the numeral 7 in the triangle, sometimes with the letters PC."

It is hard to read the small stamp. Are these Rubbermaid hard plastic containers safe from BPA?

I've been hearing a lot about this lately. This is what I've learned so far. The number on the bottom in the center of the recycling logo indicates a number 1-7 1 being the least complex and easy to recycle on up to 7.

From what I've heard 7 does has chemicals that are not healthy for the body. This gets very vague right here because from what the scientist said was that it was okay if you want to, but that they wouldn't let their children eat, or drink from plastics containing the 7.

So if I were you I'd invest in the pyrex container set. they have all kinds of sizes that are microwaveable safe. I'm a clutz and I haven't broked a single one. Very durable and at a good price.
