Pairing Wine with Cheese

This is so fun - I just starting in the yuppie world of wine and cheese tasting and I love it. Here's how I got started (much easier if you live near a metro area):

Go to tastings! They have them at wine bars, specialties markets (I don't know if you have a whole foods there) and rec centers or places where they have cooking classes will often have classes on wine and cheese.

Also, if you go to a good wine store where the sellers actually know about wine, they can recommend the kind of cheese that is good with a bottle you purchase. On the flip side, if you go to a cheese monger they can give you samples of cheese and you can choose a few you like and they can definatly recommend wine to go with them.

Try hosting a cheese and wine party. Have 1/2 the people bring wine and 1/2 the people bring cheese or have everyone bring one of each. It's fun even if none of you know that much about it, but you can get comfortable with the idea. Great question :)
