Its the cultural differences. Here in america we are a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. The flavors are more infused together with different heritages. I wouldn't expect a family whos heritage is german and italian to cook with curry just as much as I wouldn't expect a family whos heritage is indian and Sri laken to cook with saurcraut.
