Because time is non-existant, it only exists the way we make it exist, therefore if we go forward, the past wouldn't exist and the same for going backward. time only exists in the present

This is an interesting question that many have asked and no one really has the definitive answer!
Some believe that in order to travel through time it must be possible to travel faster than the speed of light which physicists have differing theories as to the possibilities. However, even if it is possible, there are other problems associated with time travel such as changes in the present and future by acts done by travelling to the past or the future. There are also theories about parallel universes and other scientific calculations that have been done to try to ascertain the answer to this question.
I love this subject. I can still remember my third grade teacher telling me that it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. However, I prefer to keep an open mind as the possibilities are endless.
Also, there is a simple answer. In fact, we are all moving through time in a linear sense. Each second ticking away. Time marches on...
There is no data showing that it is impossible to move through time. There are many that believe we can move through time. if this was possible, would you tell anyone that you could do this, or would you keep it a secret? I personally would not disclose my ability to mankind. They would want to ruin this ,as they have so many other things.
Never take for granted, Because something is not on the news constantly, that doesn't mean it is impossible. There are many things the general public knows nothing about. This could very well be one..
Actually, it's not impossible to move through time. We're all moving through time at this very minute. What is impossible is to manipulate time to make it faster, slower or to change it's direction. It's just something that's beyond our power to control. We're all stuck on the same river of time without paddles and we can only go along with the flow. .
I think awizardalso is on the right track. I'm afraid I don't have a great grasp of the concept of time myself (perhaps nobody does), but if I understand Einstein correctly, time is an integral part of the four-dimensional "fabric" of space. So if you're moving through space, I suppose you're also moving through time.
I also suspect that this intrinsic connection between the two is what makes it effectively impossible to move through time in any practical sense. If all time is essentially local and fluid (and relativistic theory seems to suggest that it is), it's not some line we can simply move along in either direction, backward or forward, into infinity.
Simply by moving through space, we're dilating the time within our own local reference frame relative to that of the local space/time we're trying to reach (assuming we even know WHERE we need to go, which is another whole problem!). And, since local time can only be dilated, not contracted, it seems likely that it's impossible to re-calibrate the two reference frames to enable any sort of meaningful interaction. You could say it's Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, applied at a cosmic level.
Then again, this is mostly speculation on my part, as my grasp of relativistic theory is somewhat tenuous.

We can't say for sure it is impossible to move through time. Perhaps those who have hypothetically invented time machines do not want to share them with others. If people in the future have time machines, we may not know about it because they are careful not to disturb things when they go back in time.
I'm not into the science of it too much, but when I logically think about it, it seems that time goes one way--forward. How can you go back to something that hasn't happened yet or jump to something that has already happened? It just doesn't make sense.
In my honest opinion we are "moving" through time every second. We can occupy ourselves with meaningless tasks and find that time has past us by, this would be an example of us moving through time. But if you are implying that we physically move through the concept of time, it's literally impossible. It's like asking if it's possible to physically move faster than light. It just can't work.
