Anyone have a theory on why i play 6 hand poker so well and 9 hand so poor?

I consistantly place in a 6 hand table id say 8 out of 10 times however, when i play 9 player tables,, i only place 2 out of ten times. am i missing something here? do you have to change playing styles for each table? im at a loss here, at least thats what my bankroll indicates :)

Your odds of winning go down as the number of players go up. And maybe the experience of players has a lot to do with it.
