How can we have a recipe contest at a pot luck event?

Our volunteer group is having a Fall Pot Luck and would like to have a recipe contest. There will be approximately 50 people.

Do a taste off.
Pick a random judge pannel (not allowed to enter, consisting of 2-3 people) and have them pick the best. OR have everyone get a number when they bring an item (placed by their dish) and have everyone fill out a card stating who (what number) was their favorite.
