I got the answer to this already, but didn't receive an answer from webanswers I liked. If anyone wants to share their favorite knitting pattern, I would be willing to reward that.

My favorite knitting pattern is a dishcloth. These are the only dishcloths I use in my kitchen and they make nice gifts, especially if they are wrapped around a jar of jelly or a kitchen utensil. I keep a couple on hand and when one is getting old and dingy, I knit one up in about 2 nights.
Knit with 100% cotton yarn using Size 9 or 10 needles:
Cast on 4 stitches
Knit 2 rows
*Knit 2 stitches, YO, knit to end of row.
Repeat above *row until you have 44 stitches on your needle.
*Knit 1 stitch, knit 2 tog, YO, knit 2 tog, knit to end of row
Repeat above *row until you have 4 stitches left.
Knit 2 tog and bind off
NOTE: A 12 row stripe of contrasting color may be added to the middle. (Start contrasting color when you have 38 stitches. Go back to main color when you have decreased back down to 38 stitches.)
Marabear ? would you be willing to share the scarf pattern with us?
Marabear, I do not knit, I only crochet..I never learned how to knit but would like to if you know a easy pattern I could start with, that would be great. And if you ever decide to crochet, I'm your gal on helping you with that..

Sounds like you might be trying to make a basket weave pattern. Go to Red Heart.com, they should have a free pattern there.
