Depends on the person, but hypnosis is really just a form of "getting through to you" and really it's just an easier way to deal with obsessions and things, if you really want to combat the addiction its all in the mind, rather than paying a lot of money seeing a hypnotherapist just use self control, i know many people who have battled with addictions and combated them with confidence and control and they have the best lives going now, but if you personally feel you need assistance then hypnotherapy is the way to go, and i would say it's around 80% effective if you want it to be.

The only way I've found as a solution to alcoholism/addiction is a 12 step program
