It's just a doctor's way of saying something like "after a significant event." So if you were in a car accident a month ago, and went to your doctor for follow-up today, they would write something like...
"one month status post vehicle accident..." to describe your situation.

Status post is just latin slang. It is used to mean after.

Status post is an overly used term usually dictated to indicate "following" something; e.g., "The patient had a cardiac stent placed status post coronary angiogram." Unfortunately, too many providers place "status post" in the wrong position in a sentence; e.g., "The patient had a coronary angiogram, status post stent."
In a list of surgeries that a patient may have had, too many providers start out with "status post." Like I said, it is an overly used term that sound.....medical.
Does it sound like I am a medical transcriptionist? Correct.
