I think you would be shocked how many people are on anti-depressants and it doesn't make you crazy! Prozac is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor - so it does just what it says. Seretonine is a nuertotransmitter (a chemical in the brain) that causes a sense of well-being. We could go into the Pharmacokinetics of SSRI, but I don't think that is what you are asking.
The fact is that real clinical depression, OCD, anxiety disorders treated by SSRIs are just as real of a medical condition as diabetes. The fact that they manifest themselves as emotions doesn't detract from the medical cause and it's society that has made the connection between craziness and prozac when the cases that are glamorized by the media are actually far and few between.
You would be shocked to see the fully-functioning and happy people that need these drugs the way a diabetic needs insulin. So you would be nuts to dump her and every other girl you date who you find out is on antidepressants. But thanks for askin!

Prozac is often prescribed to women who suffer from Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) a condition in which depressive symptoms occur one week prior to menstruation and disappear after they menstruate.
Depression is very common. Between 5 and 10 per cent of the population are suffering from the illness to some extent at any one time. Over a lifetime you have a 20 per cent, or one in five, chance of having an episode of depression. Women are twice as likely to get depression as men.
Antidepressant medication helps to correct the 'low' mood and other symptoms experienced during depression; they are NOT 'happy pills'. Antidepressants do not change your personality. Antidepressants are NOT addictive.
I wouldn't worry.

I'd say not. Prozac (and other anti-depressants) are pretty commonly prescribed in the US. If you sworn off anyone taking one, you'd have a pretty good chance of staying single.
Think about the plus side, yes, she is taking Prozac which means she is willing to, and working through, issues that she may have in her life. If you two do start getting close, you might be able to ask why she is taking the Prozac.
So I wouldn't break things off with her just because of that.
