It feels like I can feel my nerves in the back of my head spasm and twitch while I have a headache.when I massage pain starting from the back of my ears to my brain and temples it seems to relieve it a little. I can't think straight most of the time and these tension headached literally last ALL DAY AND NIGHT.doctors have checked for TMJ and said I don't have it by looking at xrays but lokking a picture's on the internet the pain is consistant with TMJ . What do I have and how can I treat it?where can I start going to find out how to treat this?

You need to make an appointment with a neurologist. They need to test and make sure there is nothing such as a tumor or blood clot causing these headaches. Once they rule out the major things that could be wrong, they will start to try other things to help ease your pain. There are many different types of treatment that they can try. But you have to get checked out first and then go from there.
There have been many breakthroughs in treating headaches/migraines in the last 5 years. Tension headaches are migraines. And they can be treated and gotten under control.

You can reduce muscle tightness and relieve pain with regular physical exercise.relaxation exercises nonprescription pain medicine physical therapy and more sleep . you need to take a few little power naps throughout the day and move yourself from all the stressful things in life that has any thing to do with the stress. and try to get out to yourself more. and become interested in a hobby that will take your mind away from the stress and walk a lot and visit diff settings during the day! and eat right with a good diet also!

You might be having a reaction to a food additive. Aspartame is known to cause severe headaches in people who are sensitive to it. Aspartame is commonly found in diet sodas, drink mixes (like Crystal light), and other diet foods. I had severe headaches until a friend mentioned that Aspartame might be the culprit and a few days after cutting it out of my diet the headaches disappeared.

Have you considered visiting a chiropractor for a second opinion? My chiropractor has been able to stop chronic pain for both my husband and I. Many times chiropractors are able to look at the entire problem and find out what exactly is causing the headaches and fix that, rather than telling you to take a pill and call them in the morning if it still hurts. It could be something as small as a vertebrae out of alignment that is causing a subluxation resulting in your head ache.

The chiropractor will insist that you perform a series of small tests before they begin treatment, and they will also require an Xray. They will make sure you do not have anything more serious causing the pain before they even touch you.

I will quickly share that my chiropractor has helped my entire family, but most importantly, he did cranial shifting on my oldest son which began his speaking process. After seeing various speech pathologists and attending a special school, the only thing to help him speak was the aid of a chiropractor.

They work miracles and could have your headache gone so quickly.

First thing I'd do is STAY away from traditional treatments including chiropractors. Find someone who studies structural integration. You'll find the answers to you discomfort, which are SYMPTOMS, in your hips. Has anyone actually asked about you history, falling off a horse, bike accidents, physical abuse as a kid, or any other event in your life where you have fallen. If I could guess, I'd bet that your HA start on the same side and same place most all the time. Check for yourself, reach around and touch each side of that big muscle in your lower back that runs along your spine. You should be able to actually feel a difference between the 2 sides. 1 side will be much tighter than the other. Then look at yourself in the mirror, see the difference in distance of of your earlobes in relation to the outside of your shoulder. If you try these simple techniques and see the difference between each side, you can be quite sure it's all in your hips. The pelvis has rotated which is causing the imbalance of the major muscles attached in the pelvic region which is leading to your headaches. Good Luck
