Bad breath a sign of a more serious problem?

For the past few months, my husband has really bad, manure-smelling breath that is perceptible even when he is breathing through his nose. His diet and weight are good; he is not a smoker, and he has good oral hygiene. For the past five years he has suffered from painful geographic tongue, but this bad breath is a recent thing. What could be causing it? It is with him all day long. :(

It can be caused by a dry mouth. Sometimes the saliva decreases in the mouth. The dentist can explain more.

Also, sinusitis, diabetes, postnasal drip and intestinal problems can also cause bad breath. See your physician. Perhaps he needs recent bloodwork.

Rinse with straight peroxide twice a day for about 2mins. everyday.
Once the odor has gotten better, use every other day. If gums get sensitive
discontinue for couple of days.
this will also brighten teeth as well.

Persistent bad breath for no obvious reason has to do with a thick residue - on the tongue - from the prior usage of antibiotics.

Until one has brushed their tongue as thoroughly and as far back as they can with peroxyde and a tooth brush, the residue will not leave the tongue.

Years of unresolved, unexplainable and persistent bad breath will melt away very quickly!
