Birth control question

I have been on Desogen birth control since the July 2007. The nurse who prescribed me this pill indicated that it was ok to skip my sugar pills in between pill packs and take this pill continuously to give me no period to less periods. I have done so since the beginning, and everything was great with no periods! Things however have changed. I experienced a period a few months ago that lasted well over a week and I now have a light period that has lasted for close to three weeks. I understand that spotting can be normal, but this seems to be more. I feel like I always have a period. Part of the appeal of the pill to me is the idea of shorter, lighter, and even fewer periods. What should I do, because I am getting frustrated?

This can happen when you are getting to much or to little hormone. You should be able to just call your doctors office and discuss this with a nurse, she can run it by the doc and call you back with a new script or new recomendation. Good Luck.

I had the same problem until they put me on one of the low dose pills. One good thing about the pill is there are a ton of different ones out there so you can try some until you find one that works best for you.
