C-section

I had a c-section in 2001. Last year I went to the hospital for an x-ray, my hip was hurting me. The technician was dumbfounded and told me I have metal in my stomach. Two pieces on both sides of my lower stomach. They asked if I had my tubes tied, I did not and as a matter of fact I just had a little girl in 2007. This has been bothering me to know theres foreign objects in my body. Are they supposed to be there and could this be the reason for my health problems since the c-section?
