Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed, or in the case of those employed by the federal government they are credentialed, to practice medicine with physician supervision. Yes, however, in some states, they are restricted to Non controled substances, meaning they can't prescribe narcotics, they would have to go to there over seeing physician to obtain these types of scripts for a patient.
