Can Nephrotic Syndrome cause Lactose Intolerance or its symptoms?

I've been dealing with nephrotic syndrome since late Jan./early Feb and it seems ever since I was diagnosed w/this syndrome I have almost no tolerance for dairy (with the exception of butter). Previous to this, I could eat all the cheese, yogurt, ice milk/ice cream, and drink milk as much as I wanted or my diet would allow. Even the yogurt that has the lactobacillus for digestion causes stomach distress. Milk causes immediate distress and cheese, yogurt and ice cream causes distress at varying times after consumption. Dairy digestive supplement tablets seem to help but sometimes only lessens the intesity and delays the reaction. I would just really like to know if there's a possiblity that once I'm rid of the fluid in my tissues that this dairy intolerance will cease, or am I one of the unfortunate ones to not be able to eat/drink dairy products w/o repercussions?

Cow's milk and other foods have been incriminated as precipitating factors of nephrotic syndrome (NS) Withdrawal of the offending food, with (2,3) or without (4) added steroids has been shown to be followed by remission. To our knowledge, appearance of NS as part of the picture of cow's milk protein sensitivy has not been described. We present a case of NS in which this association seemed to exist and in which management with a cow's milk protein (CMP)-free diet without steroids produced complete remission of the syndrome! hope this helps
