Contacts irritating my eye or something else?

I just started using contacts for almost a year now. A few months ago, I was sleeping over my friends house when my eye began to get very irritated. I woke up the next morning and the white of my eye was blood shot red and very scratchy. I couldn't even blink without it being painful. This has happened at least 3 or 4 times after that and this morning I woke up and it happened again. I've tried leaving my contacts in for days, taking them out for days at a time, putting new ones in, putting drops in and nothing seems to work. The redness usually goes away in a couple days and most times theres no scratchy feeling, only the redness. Should I switch to a different contact brand or am I doing something wrong? I don't know whats going on.

It is important that you go see your eye doctor ASAP. You may have gotten something in your eye that is embedded, and needs assistance coming out. If this is the case, it won't matter what brand of contact you use, it will continue to irritate the condition. It may also be that your contacts no longer fit that eye properly. Whenever you are having trouble with your contact lenses, discontinue use and see your eye doctor.

You shouldn't be sleeping in your contacts in the first place. that is bad.

it could be something in the air, or some allergen that is bothering you and your eyes.

I would go see your Eye doctor as soon as you can.
