The alginate impressions are used to make partial dentures/ or fixed partial dentures, also known as FPD's. if done correctly, the alginate impressions give an accurate representation of the mouth's actual anatomy resulting in a very good fit of fixed partial dentures. Dental stone/or plaster are used make the alginate impressions.
