Detxing your body

How do I go about detoxing my body? I am currently not working so I need the inexpensive way of how to detox, maybe some home remedy or something. A friend of mine told me to drink mineral water for 3 days, then have maple syrup & lemon for a week when hungry or thirsty. Is this helpful or harmful? Please advise

Fasting is a good way to start. Try a 24 hour fast the first time, it's easier that you think!

Just skip dinner on the 1st day. 2nd day skip breakfast & lunch - by dinnertime you won't be that hungry, so skip dinner again or eat something light. Drink a lot of water the whole time.

You'll feel really good on the third day and you'll lose a lot of cravings for sugar & junk food.

Vitamin stores also sell herbal cleansing pills.

For a few days you will need to cut out all the heavy foods that you eat. Dairy, meat, cheese, refined carbs.

So that means eating a bunch of fruit and salads and veggies. So eat things like apples, oragnes, salad stuff, avocados, etc. If it is fresh and alive, you can eat it. Adding lemon to your water is a big plus, because it alkalizes the water (makes it less acidic). This gives your body a chance to catch up from being behind on trying to process all of the above stuff which can take a toll on the body.

Ideally you should be drinking half of your body weight in oz of water a day. so if you weigh 150 lbs, that is 75 oz of water a day. When detoxing you want to drink more, but don't drink to much you think you are going to burst. If you can, add real lemon and its lemon juice to your water.

I haven't heard of the maple syrup thing though.

I disagree with the fasting thing. Your body needs to eat. Fasting is just going to tell your body you are in starvation mode and start holding on to all the fat it can.
