Low a1c's but a type 2 diabetic?

I have been diagnosed with diabetes, I have had 3 fasting blood glucoses, 2 oral glucose tolerance tests, and 2 random glucose test. And they all came back way above normal, so they diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes. But my doctors are curious because I always have very normal a1c levels. Is there any explanation for my my a1c level is so normal.

You could possibly have insulin resistance, i am not a doctor but have seen a lot of patients who have had this before, i have worked in the hospital before, so it's worth checking it out.
