My daughter has a fever for 8 days now and chest pain has started

My 13 year old daughter has been running a fever of 102-104 for 8 days now. She presented symptoms last Wed. with a fever of 104.5. Her doctor did a rapid flu test and said even if came out negative he was confirming it as H1N1. Two hours later we got the call that it was negative. I have been giving her motrin and tylenol alternating but when it comes time for dosing she presents a fever again of 102-104. She has had chest pains and is coughing now and says it hurts to breath. She also has a sore throat. I spoke to her docotor today and he said if she wasn't better in the morning to bring her in he wanted to test her for Mono? It is 3 am and i am very concerned about her pain when breathing and her fever. Should I seek emergncy room care?

Hello MOM, You indeed should seek emergent care for this youngster...When we deal with children , we do not take chances...Has she been treated with Tamaflu? If not, she should have been...Take this child, if you already have not, to the ER....If her physician has diagnosed her with H1N1 and you have a negative test, there is certainly something going on that needs to be diagnosed quickly.....Please, keep us posted...Good Luck to you and your Daughter and God Bless you both
