Should I have a follow up for a minimal effusion or pleural thickening from 2 yrs ago?

Two years ago I had an echocardiogram and they picked up a pleural effusion on it. So I was sent to a lung Dr. and they had a C/T scan run. The report states that there was a pleural thickening or minimal effusion in the posterior lung bases and that the lungs were clear of infiltrate, masses, or pneumothorax. It also stated that the parahilar and mediastinal regions were unremarkable and that the visualized images through the upper abdomen were unremarkable. I don't remember if I was told to follow up at any time on this or not. I can't locate the ordering Dr. in my PPO directory anymore. I was just wondering if I should follow up or if all of this simply means that there is nothing there and I should just forget about it.

Minimal effusion or pleural thickening ? From the readings you say here you are in very good condtion but this does not mean that you shouldn't follow up and the problem at that time was to insure that there was nothing going on but now this may have changed and i would ask a doctor to check this again if he thinks this is a good idea . and i think i would also to see if any thing has come about since the checks and also why this was done in the first place. so yes check with another doctor to be sure because the records are still there where you had the testing.
