Any trauma that has to do with the feet are legs should be treated by a doctor. You're mom needs to get in contact with her doctor or go to the E.R. This is important especially since she has diabetes. It sounds like she's probably not getting much circulation and a doctor would be best for her right now. You shouldn't delay. Of course this isn't medical advice but it's important they get her some circulation and get things moving, check her out, and get her meds if she needs them.
Well wishes to you both!

This certainly sounds like she may be in early CHF....When patients start retaining fluid , particularly with a diagnosis of Diabetes, we must start looking at the possibilities of Failure either from the Kidneys, or other organs...It is impairative that she be evaluated immediately..This can get very serious very fast....I would urge you to take her to the ER....Without knowing her complete Medical History or Meds that she is taking, I can only make an assumptive diagnosis...This is something that requires immediate attention...Good Luck to you and Your Mom and God Bless..Please, keep us posted....

Please scedule a doctors appointment for her right away and let them know the reason you are bring her in. If it has been getting worse please go to the ER.

It's a seriouis condition andleft untreated for too long is very dangerous.

How old are you? Can you get an adult to help you take your mom to the doctor or emergency room? Ask her if she has medicine for this. She may have a diuretic (makes you pee..ridding yourself of some fluid) which she has not taken for whatever reason, maybe just not feeling good. Edema (the fluid buildup you see in your moms legs) is from either too much fluid moving into the tissues (skin) or not enough moving back into the veins. This can be from weakened veins: Diabetes itself can cause it. It doesn't necessarily mean she has CHF, congestive heart failure, or kidney failure, etc. but it has to be treated to make sure circulation is improved.
