Do I have an infection?

I have had a vaginal discharge for the past several months that smells like ammonia. I have no other symptoms of an infection and I have been to the doctor twice and have been told that I am fine. I have not been sexually active in almost a year. Do I have an infection?

Hello Kurus115,
I think you may still have an infection. However i am not sure what type of infection. It could be bacterial, fungal or viral infection. Please see your gynae for a pap smear and high vaginal swab. These 2 tests will ascertain the diagnosis. It will also rule out any cervical tumour.

Thank you.

Hi.
I think infection is still the likely caused. However i am not sure whether it is bacterial, viral or fungal infections. You need to see your gynae for a pap smear and high vaginal swap to confirm the type of infection. It will also rule out cervical tumor.

Thank you

I would get a second opinion or go see your gyno again. Also you may want to try a feminine douche to see if that doesn't help flush out anything.
