Do you know anyone that had there salvia gland removed and was there any side effects ater

My doctors want to take out my salvia gland because its swollen and he says there infection in there and it will never get better, have you heard of this, and are there any side effect later. Will the neves damage my face

There are three salivary glands: the submandibular (under the jawbone) and a parotid gland in each cheek. Removal of a single gland will not decrease saliva by much.
